South Carolina is another state with a few excellent, top-notch colleges, but Benedict College? Not so much. It has a 31% graduation rate, but the remarkable thing is how cheap it is versus how much the average debt is.

The annual net price is $9,184, but the average student loan is $45,144. A total of 8.6% default on those loans, possibly due to a six-year median salary of $25,400.

Utah Stevens Henager College

Several Stevens Henegar College locations made the list, but Ogden is the worst of them all. It has a graduation rate of 42.4%, with only 18% doing so on time. They also have an average of $34,640 in loans.

The six-year average salary is just $28,800. Considering the U.S. Census Bureau states the average annual salary is $61,557, we’re not sure how graduates survive. Naturally, this contributes to the 19.4% default rate.

Social Mobility Index Rankings

The SMI rankings are a collaborative publication from CollegeNet and PayScale. The rankings aim to provide a measure of the extent to which colleges provide upward economic mobility to those that attend. The rankings were created in response to the finding in Science magazine which showed that among developed nations, the United States now provides the least economic opportunity and mobility for its citizens. The rankings were also created to combat the rising costs of tuition, much of which is attributed to the efforts of some colleges to increase their own fame and wealth in ways that increase their rank in media periodicals that put an emphasis on such measures. In 2014, according to the SMI, the top five colleges are Montana Tech, Rowan University, Florida A& M, Cal Poly Pomona, and Cal State Northridge.

Utah Has The Highest Acceptance Rate

Most students, especially those who are not 100% confident that their applications are worthy of acceptance letters, put colleges and universities with high acceptance rates on the top of their list.

As a general rule, the higher an institutions acceptance rate, the higher the chances of applicants gaining admission into it.

Some schools even have 100% acceptance rates, thanks to their open admissions policy.

This means that they have an admission process thats unselective and non-competitive. The only criterion for admission is that applicants have a high school diploma or an equivalent, like a GED certificate.

Most schools with an open admissions policy are community colleges. There are also a few four-year institutions with the same admission process.

Indiana Indiana University Northwest

Indiana University Northwest has some pretty great professors, but it still has some stuff to work on. The average graduation rate is 28%, and only around 9% of students actually graduate on time.

On top of that, students usually walk away with almost $22,000 in loans. However, it isn’t all bad. The good news is that the median salary is $36,300, which is higher than some others on this list.

North Carolina: Duke University

Duke University is North Carolinas top university, in 13th place. Duke has three campuses overall, with its largest campus decorated with Gothic architecture, including the Duke Chapel, which houses a 5,200-pipe organ. The universitys top score is in the learning experience indicator, reflecting the importance that Duke places on strong academic performance.

Runner up: University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill places second in North Carolina, placing 38th in this years US rankings.

In first place in Ohio is Case Western Reserve University. Dating back to 1826, the institution scores its highest score in the employability indicator, ranking in 34th place in the US.

Runner up: The Ohio State University places 58th in the US rankings this year.

The new year is just getting started and that means the focus on the recruiting trail is slowly beginning to shift towards the 2023 class. There’s nothing more valuable than time and Florida State won’t be wasting any of it as the Seminoles are set to host multiple visitors this weekend.

One of the top players that will be in attendance is Florida State quarterback commit Chris Parson. The rising senior has been pledged to the Seminoles since last summer and he took two trips to Tallahassee during the fall.

The Mississippi native had a standout junior season as he helped lead Ravenwood High School to ten wins and a playoff appearance. Despite missing one game due to an injury, Parson completed 68% of his passes for 1829 yards with 19 touchdowns and five interceptions during the regular season. He also ran 60 times for 760 yards and 13 more touchdowns.

Parson has already been recruiting for Florida State and he’s a popular face in his class. In recent weeks, he’s been furthering his relationship with new offensive coordinator Alex Atkins and new quarterback’s coach Tony Tokarz. This weekend will mark the first chance that Parson has been able to meet with them in person since the two coaches were promoted to their new roles.

Public Vs Private Colleges

Cost is one of the many differences between private and public colleges, this difference is due to the way schools get their funding. Both rely on private donors as well as student tuition and fees, but public colleges get a large part of their funding from the state. State funding is not only why public colleges cost less, but why they usually have different tuition rates for residents and out-of-state students. Residents pay less because they, or their families, have been paying into the funding of the schools through taxes. Private schools usually charge the same tuition for everyone, but they charge more than public schools. As you can see from the table above, private schools cost on average around $9,000 more per year than out-of-state tuition.

The cost of public universities has increased steadily over the years. Since 2000, public tuition has risen 136%, while private school tuition has only risen about 17%. For the time being, private colleges still cost more than public ones, but that gap is likely to close more as funding for higher education continues to slow down.

There are other differences between the two, such as the number of students enrolled or degree options offered. Public universities tend to enroll more students and offer a wider array of degrees, while private universities tend to enroll fewer students and have more focused degree options. If cost is not your primary consideration, you might find better options at private colleges.

Pacific Northwest College of Art is insanely expensive, as art schools often are. The average student loan debt is $22,716, and the median salary six-years post-graduation is a mere $27,400. That wouldnt pay the bills in Oregon.

Pacific Northwest College of Art doesn’t have a great graduation rate , but it’s better than some others on this list. One stat that’s surprising is 6.9% of graduates default on their loans. That’s not great, but it’s pretty low considering how much the average salary is!

App State Among Best In The Us And Southeast For 2022 The Princeton Review

App State has been recognized as one of The Best 387 Colleges in the U.S. by The Princeton Review for 2022. Additionally, the publication named the university among 143 best schools in the Southeast for 2022 part of its website feature Best Colleges: Region by Region. The institutions included in both lists, released Aug. 31, were unranked.

Its easy for Appalachian State University to attract undergraduates. Not only is the school exceedingly affordable, but it offers gorgeous scenery and a strong sense of community that makes all its students feel like they have found their place, The Princeton Review wrote in its online profile on App State, citing input from students.

The profile also highlighted App States class sizes, which allow a more personal learning experience according to the students surveyed, as well as the universitys Honors College, textbook rental program, students passion for sustainability and wide variety of Outdoor Programs. The universitys student-to-faculty ratio is 16:1.

The Princeton Review selected schools primarily for their excellence in academic programs. Secondarily, editors took into account what students attending the schools reported to them about their campus experiences on a student survey for this project.

Alaska University Of Alaska Anchorage

Alaska doesnt have many options, and most of them are good. The University of Alaska Anchorage just falls behind in a few areas. First of all, its price is over market based on other universities in the state.

Only around 31% of students graduate, and the default rate is 12.2% three years following graduation. Unlike others on the list, the median starting salary is pretty high at $46,000double that of total student loans.

New Hampshire New England College

Whatever you do, dont go to New England College. It has a 36.3% graduation rate with students walking out with a debt of $34,536. The six-year median salary is $37,900, and loans have a 12.2% default rate.

The only good thing New England College has going for it is that 93% are employed two years after graduation. That’s much higher than the national average, but considering the graduation rate is so low, this is one to stay away from.

In joint 94th place in the US we have the University of Oregon. The university scores particularly highly in the diversity and internationalization indicators and has a very high research output.

Runner up: Oregon State University ranks 101-110 in the US rankings this year.

As you might expect, the University of Pennsylvania is Pennsylvanias highest-ranked university. The university ranks eighth in the US rankings, with notable alumni including Donald Trump, Elon Musk and John Legend.

Runner up: Carnegie Mellon University is in second place, ranking 17th in the US rankings.

Minnesota: University Of Minnesota

In 55th place is the University of Minnesota. The university has a very high research output and is one of the most comprehensive public universities in the US, with a strong tradition of education and public service. The university ranks particularly well in the research indicator, in 25th place.

Runner up: University of Saint Thomas ranks second in Minnesota this year, placing 251-300 in the US.

Western International University has about 1,300 students, but the graduation for the average undergrad is just 15% after six years. As far as those that graduate on time? CollegeFactual says only 1% of students will graduate on time. Ouch.

After three years, 6.2% of students default on their loans, which the average is approximately $21,228. That’s not really awful, but considering the graduation rate, it’s certainly a gamble.

New York College Of New Rochelle

College of New Rochelle has topped the charts as being one of the worst universities in the nation, so it naturally made the list of worst in New York. The only beneficial thing about this college is the average starting salary of $40,000.

While that isn’t bad, it pales in comparison to the cost of living in New York. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the median salary is $57,782, which is far below this starting salary. The average debt is $30,096, and over 12% default on their loans. The graduation rate is 29%.

Montana: Montana State University

Montanas top entry in the world rankings this year is Montana State University Bozeman, ranking 251-300 in the US. The university is a land-grant research university and the largest university in Montana.

Runner up: University of Montana Missoula also ranks at 251-300 place in this years US ranking, coming in at second place in Montana.

Qs World University Rankings

The QS World University Rankings are produced by Quacquarelli Symonds, which calls itself the “the world’s leading provider of services, analytics, and insight to the global higher education sector.” These rankings have existed since 2004.

Countries are evaluated based on four criteria: system strength , access , flagship institution , and economic context .

In the most recent version, published in 2018, the U.S. ranks first, followed by the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Canada, France, the Netherlands, China, South Korea, and Japan.

QS also ranks universities individually. In its 2022 edition, five of the top 10 universities are American, as are 12 of the top 25.

So on the matter of the world’s best higher education system, it’s one vote for the U.S. from QS.
