Unique Cleans: Boat/ Rv Detailing Service
This one should not come as a surprise. This idea has been around for ages, but people STILL need this done every year. With summer here people want a clean boat or RV as they take it out of storage and show it off to everyone. No one wants to show off their dirty stuff. Low cost, you could start by gathering cleaning supplies and going door to door to people who have RVs or boats. Maybe you arent afraid of getting a little wet and you can offer this service down at your local marina.

Lake Days Private Boat Service With Water Sports
I had to brand this idea as Lake Days because it sounds cool and would be something I would use in the summer. Different than the jet ski rental business, this idea would involve owning or leasing a few boats, and then renting them out to people with the desired water equipment. Charging a day or hourly fee plus expenses would work.
What Advice Would You Have For College Students Who Think Of Themselves As The Poor College Student Stereotype
Nic: My advice to poor college students would be to stop labeling yourself as a poor college student. I think this is difficult for students who never have had jobs before, but you really just need to realize that you have the ability to be part of the working population and there are a lot of jobs out there for those who want them.
If you label yourself a poor college student, at best you are going to get the type of job normally reserved for poor college students, just because that is how potential employers will see you. View yourself as more than that dont limit your potential to poor college student status.
I think almost anyone could be doing what Im doing. Sure, you have to work hard and commit yourself to it, but at the end of the day, there is a lot of work out there for people who are willing to develop skills and dedicate the necessary time.
I got my first job when I was about 14 years old and have worked ever since I think thats helped my mindset. It really bothers me to see friends who havent ever had a real job and dont even know how to write a resume I really think those are skills you should learn at least by high school graduation.

Wow Thats Intense How Did You Find The Time To Balance Both School And Your Freelance/business Work
Nic: It is difficult to find the time! It has definitely tested my time management skills.
Ive developed some great working relationships with contractors who do some of my more time-consuming work for me it has allowed me to cut down to 20 to 30 hours per week. The key has been to really know my schedule and get a good grasp on how long my must-do work is going to take me.
When I have a lot due in classes it can get crazy. Ill find myself starting work at midnight or 1:00 a.m., but I try to get ahead in the slower weeks so that I am able to keep up. A typical day for me starts around 9:00 am with my first class usually I try to cram all my classes in before noon or 1:00 p.m. for sure.
During lunch I usually look over what I need to get done for work, reply to emails, and set a bit of a mental schedule. After lunch is usually when I am working, I would say 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day I try to be working fairly solid.
This past semester I had to cram LSAT studying into that period as well, so those hours are sometimes extended.
A couple nights a week I usually have a night class. Sometimes I have to get a bit of work done during class: emails, editing, and such. If Im not busy after class, I usually get as much as I can done from 9:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m. until midnight or when I go to bed.

Placing In A Marketing Competition
During one of my marketing lectures, my Professor mentioned that there was a competition called Canadas Next Top Ad Exec that was open to Canadian university students.
He also mentioned that the competition awarded prizes to top competitors, networking opportunities, and the chance to land some rather impressive internships or full-time jobs.
Upon heading home, I decided to look into the contest. The gist of it was to create a marketing plan for Canadian Tire.
The competition was segmented into 3 phases.
In phase 1, participants were required to submit their marketing proposal. The top 25 teams would then make it to phase 2, and have the opportunity to expand their marketing proposal into a more elaborate document for the judges to critique.
The top 25 teams also earned $1,000 in Canadian Tire gift cards. In phase 3, the top 15 teams pitched their ideas to a panel of judges and industry members in Toronto for a chance to win $30,000.
Surprisingly, fewer than 200 teams seem to enter the competition annually.
So, as I sat there reading the competition requirements, it soon dawned on me that I would only have to place in the top 10%-25% percent depending on how many teams entered to make $1,000.
Anyway, I spent 2 hours working on my marketing proposal after some brainstorming and submitted it without a team member.
Weeks later, I got a phone call saying I had made it to the next round and had earned $1,000.
Total side hustle income: $2,150.

Where To Look For Summer Jobs
If youre looking for a job, youll likely have to work a little harder than just doing a quick Google search for summer jobs.
You can find relevant opportunities through the following sources:
- Job search sites: General job search sites like Indeed and SnagAJob allow you to search for local opportunities and filter the results by experience and pay.
- Industry databases: If you have a particular industry in mind, look for an industry website that operates a jobs database. For example, landscapers can find jobs on LandscapeIndustryCareers.org, and people looking for work at salons can search for a job on BeautyLeap.
- Social media: Companies that need workers often post job listings online. If you have a few companies in mind, follow them on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to find available positions.
- Word of mouth: If youre looking for a job, let everyone in your network know. Your network includes your family, friends, professors and past coworkers and managers. They can tell you if they know of any interesting opportunities available.
- In person: Particularly in the service industry, visiting a business in person can be an excellent way to get a job quickly. Based on the current demand, you could be interviewed on the spot and start a new job as soon as this week.
