Urban Planning And Expansion

The first plan for the Capitol Center was the 1947 Taylor Plan, which consolidated several government buildings in one downtown area. In 1974, the Capitol Center Planning Commission for the City of Tallahassee, Florida responded to growth of its urban center with a conceptual plan for the expansion of its Capitol Center. , working for , led the urban planning and design effort. Estimating growth and related development for approximately the next 25 years, the program projected the need for 2.3 million square feet of new government facilities in the city core, with 3,500 dwelling units, 100 acres of new public open space, retail and private office space, and other ancillary spaces. Community participation was an integral part of the design review, welcoming Tallahassee residents to provide input as well as citizens’ groups and government agencies, resulting in the creation of six separate design alternatives.

Cincinnati Vs No 1 Alabama

FAMU co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Ryan Stanchek is a proud native of Cincinnati.

He returned to the Queen City to spend Christmas with his family. The buzz in the area is all about the Bearcats.

Cincinnati’s historic 2021 season included a 13-0 record. Stanchek loves offense, especially power on the front line. This fall, the Bearcats averaged 39.2 points per game.

FAMU’s offensive line guru makes no apologies about being a homer. He’s all in with Cincinnatti shocking the world with an upset over Alabama.

“The Bearcats have six players in the Senior Bowl. I don’t think they’re a slouch. I’m taking the Bearcats. I have to go with the hometown team,” Stanchek said.

His choice isn’t limited to the Cotton Bowl. Stanchek is rooting for Cincinnatti to win the national championship.

Ryan Smith is Stanchek’s coaching counterpart as FAMU’s co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach.

In 2015, Smith served as an offensive quality control coach at Alabama. The Crimson Tide won the national championship that season with a 45-40 win over Clemson on Jan. 11, 2016.

Smith understands the inner workings of how Saban preps for games – especially in the postseason.

He cites Bama’s dominance and playing through the rugged SEC as the foundation for his pick in the CFP.

Alabama finished the regular season at 12-1. Its only loss was a 41-38 score against SEC foe Texas A& M.

“It’s the AFC, NFC and the SEC,” Smith said.

Private Vs Public Institutions

Public colleges and universities receive more of, and rely heavily on, state funds than private schools. Tuition for a public university or college will cost significantly less than a privately funded university or college if you attend a college in your state. If you attend a public college in another state, you will lose the in-state tuition benefits. Public universities also tend to be significantly larger than private colleges. A public college can have over 60,000 undergraduates. This means your classes will have more students, but you will generally have more classes to choose from. Public colleges and universities tend to have a plethora of degree options as well.

Private universities and colleges receive funding from tuition, alumni and friend donations, and endowment. Most tend to cost significantly more than a public institution, but the tuition cost will vary depending on the university or college. Generally smaller than a public institution, a private college or university will have smaller classes and fewer courses offered. The institution will likely offer only a few degrees, often in a specialized area.
