One of them is the Writing and Learning Centre. We provide one-on-one tutoring sessions for free. Tutors help students develop their skills in Mathematics, Economics, Sciences, English, Humanities, Social Sciences and Academic Writing.
Alexander College also offers academic and emotional support through the Student Services department. All students may be eligible for up to 10 free, on-site, health and wellness counselling sessions per year.

Why Are College Transfer Acceptance Rates Changing
Its worth adding a quick snippet in if you find yourself in this unique situation. If you are transferring colleges after one semester or one year, your high school GPA is going to be much more important than if you transfer later on in your college career.
Your transfer colleges, in this case, will likely align closely in competitiveness with your list of colleges in high school.
One of the largest is that undergraduate enrollment has decreased, leaving more room for transfer students to take those spots. With lower undergrad enrollment, colleges need to find a way to make up the difference, and two years of tuition from a transfer student is more beneficial to colleges than having no tuition at all.
But an even bigger reason is that elite colleges have a reputation as having largely homogeneous student bodies. Princeton admitted its first transfer students recently, which serves to add diversity to a college typically seen as white and wealthy.

Can You Transfer After One Semester Of Community College
Community colleges can provide an excellent training ground for students who are perhaps not ready immediately after high school for the demands of a traditional four-year college or who simply need to make up some credits before attending a university.
Transferring to a traditional four-year college after spending time at a community college is not uncommon. Many students who did not have a high school transcript that was acceptable to four-year colleges choose to spend a semester or even a year or more at a community college, demonstrating that they can handle college-level work and perhaps focus more closely on the discipline they hope to pursue when they transfer. For this reason, it is recommended that students complete an entire year’s worth of work at a community college. This will give a traditional college a better sense of their ability to handle rigorous coursework.
The best way to demonstrate readiness for a traditional four-year college while at a community college is to perform well in your academic classes and show prospective schools that you are actively working toward achieving your personal or professional goals using the resources available to you at your community college. This will help you to illustrate your appeal to their school by letting them know why you think you would thrive there and what benefits you foresee yourself being able to offer to their school community.

Do You Need To Submit Sat Scores As A Transfer Applicant
As I touched on above, the answer to this question really depends on the school you’re applying to. Some schools don’t require SAT scores for any transfer students, some only want standardized test results from students who haven’t completed a minimum number of credits, and some ask for test scores from all applicants.
In general, very selective schools and small liberal arts colleges are more likely to require test scores, while bigger state universities are more likely to waive the requirement.
Also, if you’ve been out of high school for more than five years or if taking the SAT represents an undue financial burden, most schools will waive any SAT requirements.
