What Is Ace College Credit Courses

Don't Miss

Rule : Dont Assume That College Personnel Are Familiar With Ace Credit Ace Credit Is Probably The Least Frequent Type Of Credit They Encounter Youll Have To Be Patient And Persistent

As someone constantly tracking this type of information, I am so frustrated when I cant share a list with our membership. Asking for a list is a frequent question, and frankly, there isnt one. So, instead, Ill share what I know- and you can work from there. I have found that several ACE credit sources have credit transfer partnerships with specific colleges. For example, Saylor Academy has partnership agreements with 20 colleges. Those 20 colleges have agreed to accept Saylors courses for college credit. That list is a great list to use as a starting point- which is to say that if those 20 colleges accept Saylor courses, they probablywill accept other ACE evaluated course providers courses! The Alternative Credit Project partnered with 40 schools, and Straighterline another 100+.

How Can I Earn Ace Credit

To find out if an organization or company you’ve trained with has a recommended credit award, visit the ACE Guide. You can search by organization or by a specific training exam that you have taken. This guide will give you the credit equivalence that you can use to discuss earning credit with your advisor.

For ACE-evaluated credit, students must request and submit to the college an official transcript from ACEin order to receive credit.

What Does It Mean To Get Credit

Some Saylor Academy courses can be used to earn transfer credit toward degree programs at our Degree Completion Partners. Saylor Academy does not issue degrees. Read more about how to send a record of your completed Saylor Direct Credit course below in the Transcripts section.

Please double-check with your school for details! Even if your school is not an official partner, they may still accept the ACE credit recommendation.

If your school is not on our list of Degree Completion Partners, ask them to contact us about becoming a partner.

College Credits: Key Facts

ACE CREDIT

College credits are an important part of accreditation, or the certification that a US college or university receives when they provide a quality education . Credit hours help clarify what kind of education you earn, making it easier in some cases to transfer credits from one accredited institution to another, and to set a minimum standard for financial aid.

Put Your Ace Credits To Work For You

Did you know we design our programs with stackability in mind? If you have completed ACE credits, you can apply them to other programs. This makes continuing your education easier and more time-efficient at ACE. You can apply your credits regardless of when they were taken if the following applies:

  • The course you have taken is the same or equivalent to the potential course.
  • The course is not on the Internal Transfer list. The courses on these tables must be retaken if over the time limit due to substantial content updates.
  • The course is the same or an equivalent number of credits.

The best news is that ACE will automatically apply credits that meet the above criteria when you return to ACE. If you have questions about this process or would like to request an evaluation of your past ACE courses, please contact for a program map.

Rule : Dont Assume Colleges On The Ace Network List Will Award Your Teen College Credit For Their Ace Courses

As I appealed my sons credit decision, I grew frustrated with advisor after advisor who didnt know what ACE was or what kind of credit hed earned. I shouldnt have been too frustrated because I remember myself having advised students at the community college for about 10 years before I knew what CLEP was.or that we were a testing center. Eventually, when I found someone who knew what ACE credit was, she was able to explain to me why our community college was on the list and told me all about the carpentry course. Scenarios have played out like this dozens of times among our membership. I frequently hear of parents being bounced around to 4-5 people just trying to find out if the college accepts Straighterline credit!

If youre constantly told that they dont know what ACE credit is, or if they accept it, or want you to submit your transcripts first before giving you information, you can ask if they award credit for military training. Military training usually appears on an ACE transcript, so even though your teen wont have military training for evaluation, this could be a clue that ACE credit may be awarded. Again, were trying to predict based on an incomplete picture, but how colleges behave in one situation is usually a good indication of how theyll do other things so its worth asking if youre out of options.

Is There A Better Way Whats My First Step

One way is to make sure the courses have taken the recommendations one step further to help you receive credit.

For example, I founded OnlineDegree.com with a mission to make college more affordable and accessible for everyone. Anyone can register and take our college-level courses, for free. Yep, free.

    Heres the key difference though:

In addition to the NCCRS credit recommendations our courses have received weve taken the added step of organizing direct partner articulations with universities across the country to ensure our students have the best opportunity to receive credit

Its a lot of work, but we work directly with individual universities to pre-organize the course mapping so students have more certainty of the course acceptance. You can see all of the great schools weve organized this process with here. The list is growing constantly as we continue to work with more universities. Oh, and we also organize tuition discounts on our students behalf so you could save even more money.

Again, we do all of this for free. As part of our mission to help people access the education they need, one can register and take as many of our college-level courses as theyd like.

Hopefully that helped understand the difference between the two recommendations, and why these organizations serve an amazing role. You should now have what you need to start toward your degree.

    To your success!

Rule : When One Ace Credit Source Has A Partnership Agreement With A College It Is Reasonable To Infer That The Same College Will Also Accept Other Ace Credit Sources

If you visit each ACE providers website, you can find their partnership agreements. Here is a small sample of ACE providers:

As you browse the lists, youll see that there is some overlap of schools, but there are many listings that appear on only one list. It is my observation, that if a college appears on any list above, youll have an excellent shot at getting them to accept your other sources of ACE credit- at the very least, you should try.

So, the following list is the list I created by merging all known partner college relationships with ACE credit providers I could find. In other words- this list, not the ACE Network list, is probably as close to any real ACE list as youll ever find, and it contains about 145 colleges .

    RA = Regionally Accredited

*note- it may not seem like it, but this project took quite a bit of work most providers used only college logos- not text so I had to hand write the list here for you. Remember, there is no incentive for businesses to share or merge lists because it is in their best interest for you to use their products and NOT those of their competitor!
