What Minors Would Best Accompany An Affordable Degree In Nutrition And Dietetics

A minor is slightly different from a concentration. Not all schools will offer areas of concentration, but just about all schools will allow you to add-on a minor. The easiest way to make the distinction between the two is that a concentration is typically offered within the same department as your major and works hand in hand with it. However, the minor can come from another department and is intended as a complement to your degree. The minor will help broaden your curriculum and your skillset, giving you a solid multi-disciplinary education!

Youll have many minor options to choose from, all of which will vary from school to school. Typically, to add on a minor, you will take about 15 extra credit hours , which is about 5 additional classes. Some schools will even allow these classes to take the place of electives, enabling you to customize your degree to fit your goals. A few minors that could be helpful in the nutrition/dietetics field are: education, health education, food science, exercise science, community health, social diversity, business, or health administration.
