The Card Offers A First

New holders of the Kroger Rewards World Elite Mastercard can get 25 cents off per gallon of gas during the first year of using the card. To receive the discount, youll have to redeem at least 100 fuel points when you scan your card at eligible Kroger fuel centers.

If you spend up to $6,000 in the first 12 months of having the card, the 25 cents off per gallon of gas will be extended for the remainder of that calendar year and through the next calendar year as well, until the following Jan. 31.

After that, youll have to spend up to $6,000 every year to keep the 25-cents-off benefit.

For those who drive a lot, this bonus can add up to fairly big savings on gas whether they meet the spending requirement or not although keeping track of and redeeming fuel points can be high-maintenance.

If you’re a dedicated shopper at one of the many stores in the Kroger “family,” you might be considering the grocer’s co-branded store credit card the Kroger Rewards World Elite Mastercard for your frequent supermarket sweeps.

But loyalty to Kroger isn’t necessarily a good reason to apply for this credit card. That’s because, for a co-branded product, it offers a relatively underwhelming rewards rate for actual shopping done within the Kroger brand.

The $0-annual-fee card, issued by U.S. Bank, does offer a high rate in the somewhat unique category of mobile wallet purchases, but there’s a cap on that spending, as well as some other limitations to be aware of.

Here are five things to know about the Kroger credit card.

For convenience, Nashville State recommends students order online.

Fall semester classes started at Nashville State Community College on August 23.

The Cupboard offers online ordering so students can safely shop from home and schedule appointments to pick up their groceries on campus.

Company is latest big US firm to offer education-focused perks to workers after Walmart, Target and Kroger

Amazon has offered to pay the cost of college tuition fees for 750,000 of its frontline workers, the latest move by a major US company to offer perks to attract and retain staff amid a labour shortage.

The company, which is investing $1.2bn in the scheme by 2025, said it would cover the cost of college tuition fees and textbooks for US hourly staff after 90 days of employment for as long as they remain at Amazon.

It will also begin covering the cost of other types of education, including high school diplomas and English-language courses, as well as extending on-the-job career training to 300,000 people.

Amazon is now the largest job creator in the US, said Dave Clark, the chief executive of worldwide consumer at Amazon, in a blogpost. We know that investing in free skills training for our teams can have a huge impact for hundreds of thousands of families across the country.

Amazon is the latest big US firm to offer education-focused perks to workers after similar moves by Walmart, Target and Kroger. Last month, Walmart said it would pay the costs of tuition and books for its hourly staff, with about 1.5 million workers eligible. Target has said it will offer free undergraduate degrees to more than 340,000 staff in the US.

Ufcw Continues Fight For Hazard Pay At Kroger

Presidents of UFCW Locals in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky continue the work of securing additional compensation for Kroger workers. Kroger recently announced that its workers are again required to wear masks in-stores. Our Local Union leaders sent more correspondence to Kroger CEO Rodney McMullen, calling on him for additional hourly compensation for Kroger workers.

As the deadly Delta variant of COVID-19 surges across the United States, masks are once more a necessity and vaccine hesitancy means the virus will continue to mutate and spread. Our members Kroger employees continue to serve their customers at great risk of catching this deadly virus themselves and or bringing it home to their families.

The courage and dedication our members have shown to their customers and their communities during this deadly pandemic has earned them hazard pay. Now, more than ever before, it is time for Kroger to do the right thing and pay them the hazard pay they deserve.

    Know Your Reimbursement Rules

Employers require tuition reimbursement payback agreements to avoid training employees who use their education to get a new job working elsewhere. Companies legally protect themselves by making employees pay back reimbursements if the employee leaves the company within a specific time frame of completing the education.

Because employees leave companies for different reasons, not all companies require employees to pay back a tuition reimbursement in every instance. Check the wording of your agreement to see if you need to pay back tuition in the event of a layoff, termination for cause, voluntary separation or other specific situation.

There’s A Separate Fuel Rewards Program

How to Pay for College: 6 Best Ways to Help Pay for College

If you get the Kroger Rewards World Elite Mastercard, you’ll automatically be enrolled in Kroger’s shopper loyalty program.

As a member of the program and, again, independent of the credit card you’ll earn 1 “fuel point” for every $1 you spend on groceries at any store in the Kroger network. Youll also earn 2 points per every dollar you spend on most gift card purchases. Here’s how the fuel point program works:

    • Fuel points can be redeemed at Kroger fuel centers and participating Shell gas stations. At Kroger fuel centers, you can redeem up to 1,000 fuel points for $1 off per gallon. At eligible Shell stations, you can redeem 100 fuel points for 10 cents off per gallon.

    • Theres no limit to how many fuel points you can earn each month. But these points don’t carry over and instead expire the last day of the month after they’re earned.

    Negotiate Your Own Terms

You might be able to negotiate the terms of your tuition reimbursement, especially if you work at a small company. Have your agreement define the stipulations under which you must repay the tuition, and how youll make those payments. For example, stipulate that you will only have to repay your tuition if you voluntarily separate, not if youre laid off or fired, even for cause.

Set up a payment schedule so you dont get stuck with a large bill all at once. Put a specific date in the clause that ends it for example, if you stay longer than three years after completing your education, you wont need to pay the tuition back.

In addition to college tuition, you can negotiate reimbursements for seminars, workshops, online courses and certification training. You can ask a new employer to pay for your tuition or split it with you as part of your compensation package or signing bonus, since the company will reap the benefit of your increased knowledge.
