I Sent An Email To Cancel My Account
I sent an email to cancel my account within the six day limit. It went unanswered. I sent a second email asking again to cancel my account and re enroll in another. Again no answer. After several calls, I finally got ahold of someone who insisted i was past my limit and now owe $598. I said no because I canceled within my 6 days. She tells me I completed 66% of my coursework already. REALLY??? In less than 6 days! I infact had completed 66% of orientation but not my semester. So you mean to tell me I owe almost $600 just for an orientation which I didn’t even complete!!! I had asked to change majors but after that I’m done with Penn Foster. Also good luck getting ahold of anyone if you need to speak to them. It’s almost impossible. Worst experience I’ve ever had.

I passed their travel agent program back in 2006, passed the national exam and felt like everything went well. Now? Not so good. The so-called “instructor” seems to know nothing about law and refers to what top-ranked law schools have published as “differing opinions”.Um…WHAT?! A REAL law professor would accept information from the Cornell Legal Information Institute as citable fact suitable for research papers, not dismiss it like it’s from Wikipedia!”Are you an actual attorney?” I asked.The instructor simply said, “One wrote this course and revises it.”So no…you’re a poor, underpaid worker bee parroting back what the school tells you to. And judging by the complaints about the accounting course being outdated, I’m guessing the “lawyer” who “updates” this course hasn’t been by in a while, either.I’m not sure why I’m even taking this course…no law school in their right mind is going to get excited about PFCS being your stepping stone into being a paralegal when you apply for their Master of Legal Studies program!

I completed a certificate in web page design. The instructional materials were mailed to me in the form of books called “modules.” Each module contained 2-4 lessons covering topics such as learning strategies , essential web publishing skills, and HTML fundamentals. At the end of each lesson was a multiple choice open book exam. A minimum grade of 70% was required to move to the next module. In addition to the modules I received a student edition of Dreamweaver software which included an instructional manual with easy to follow screenshots. The manual gave multiple hands on lessons creating websites. The final project was to create a website and post it. I felt the lessons were easy to follow and gave me a great background on HTML, Dreamweaver, and how to perform Internet research. Best of all I studied at my own pace and on my own time. When I had questions instructors were available to answer my questions.
