When Course Credits For Current Students Are Approved
The Registrars office will only evaluate non-UCLA coursework after courses have been completed and an official transcript with final grades has been received.
If youre participating in a study abroad organization that requires a signature in order for you to register, you should contact your school or college. Please note, however, that the signature doesnt guarantee that credit will be awarded.
To receive credit, you must:
- Attend a regionally accredited U.S. college or university or a recognized university in another country. If you have questions concerning the accreditation or recognition of the institution you plan to attend, please contact us.
- Take academic courses which are substantially similar to those offered by the UC system.
- Take courses that dont repeat material you have already completed.
- Take all coursework in the proper sequential order.
- Request that the institution attended send us an official transcript. Requests for transcripts from foreign institutions should be made before you leave the country. Dual Enrolled High School Students
Students simultaneously earning their A.A. or A.S. while still enrolled in high school should apply as a Transfer Student and may receive a core-to-core transfer and begin studies at Chestnut Hill with third-year status. Status will be determined by credits earned, and students must submit official transcripts from BOTH the high school and the college where credits are being earned.

Do I Need To Fill Out The Fafsa To Be Eligible For The Completion Scholarship +
The FAFSA is not required. However, it is strongly recommended that you complete the FAFSA to be reviewed for eligibility for other forms of institutional, state, and federal aid, since the Completion Scholarship does not cover the full cost of tuition and fees.
Please note: If you are a financial aid recipient, you must complete all federal requirements in order to receive Title IV funding.
Typical Admissions Requirements For Transfer Students
The transfer is like the first-year admission in the elements of transcripts, test scores, and a reasonable GPA. The studentâs character is always an issue, and transferring students should be in good standing at their original schools. Most transfer applications consist of an application form, recommendations, transcripts of high school and college work, and standard test scores. If Youre Beginning Or Enrolled In University
Early enrollment: Once youâve been accepted at a college or university, you may be eligible to enroll the summer before the official start of the academic year and take a handful of classes.
Summer and winter semesters: Students who are enrolled full time are expected to take at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester, but you can take advantage of summer semesters and winter semestersâthose in-between periodsâto take a class or two. Classes held during the summer and winter tend to move faster in order to cover the same amount of material as a full semester double check whether the accelerated pace fits your schedule.
Professional experience: If you entered the workforce before earning your bachelorâs degree, you may be able to translate some of that experience into college credit. A total of 45 hours toward a bachelors degree program and 30 hours toward an associate degree program combined in all credit-by-exam credit may be awarded. Students transferring to the University of Washington from a Washington state community or technical college before earning a WA CTC associate degree will be able to apply academic credits they earn at UW toward completion of an associate degree from their former WA CTC.

Yes! Generally speaking, you can transfer credits from one university to another. At Waterloo, you can transfer up to 50 per cent of the courses toward the degree you would like to earn. Do I Need A Certain Number Of Credits Before I Can Apply To Transfer To Another College
The answer is NO and YES.
NO A student may always apply to another college/university for admission but if that student has too few completed college credits, then their application will not be given the same consideration as is given to a TRUE transfer applicant. The applicant will be considered with all the other freshman applicants and at that competitive level, high school grades and SAT scores strongly affect the answer. If the student is accepted to another college and has earned college credit, those completed colleges credits will be evaluated by the receiving college/university for transferability.
YES A TRUE transfer applicant does need to have a minimum number of completed college credits at the time an application is filed. The number of completed credits will vary from as few as 12 to as many as 60 credits. Applying for admission under transfer status affords the student certain additional considerations not offered to freshman applicants. If earning a degree is not your goal, you should plan to attend long enough to complete at least 30 college credits before you apply to transfer. This does not include basic skills coursework. Most four-year colleges will waive the SAT requirements for transfer students who have earned more than 30 college credits. And some will not require high school transcripts either.
