Jst: Joint Service Transcript And Ccaf Transcript
This works through your Joint Services Transcript or your Community College of the Air Force Transcript. These will allow you to submit your military service and training to obtain college credit towards your degree or other educational programs.
The JST is for the following branches:
- Army Service Transcript
- Coast Guard Service Transcript
The JST were formerly known as the SMART transcripts.
The Air Force is the only branch thats different and uses the CCAF transcript instead of the JST.
Academic Credit For Training Completed While In Service
The JST is a uniform transcript of all military training and experience for service members of all branches, except the Air Force, which has its own, accredited transcript. This new electronic transcript service includes Officer and Warrant Officer training, joint military training conducted by other services, and DANTES funded test scores.

You can request online transcript delivery and you can request as many transcripts as you need. In general, transcripts ordered by 11:59 PM central time will be delivered via the web on the next business day after ordered.
The rules for postal service delivery are differentyou can order two transcripts within 30 days. Hard copies are mailed on the next business day after the transcripts are ordered.

What Is The Joint Services Transcript
The JST tells civilian schools and employers what skills you gained in the military that may transfer to your current situation. You can use this information when applying to school or for a job. Your JST can also be used to transfer some of your military experience to college credit or civilian job certifications. It also contains records of your military schools as well as results of tests taken through DANTES.

College Credits For Military Training
There are a ton of colleges that claim to be military friendly and give college credits for your military training. However, the one thing they want is money. None of the schools that are well known for converting Army transcripts to college credits are what they seem. Through my research, I found that they wanted you to pay an admission fee, transcript evaluation fee or a fee based on the amount of credits they awarded you. This is just a ridiculous way to get money from soldiers and it is not right.
Us Air Force: Community College Of The Air Force
The USAF, through the Community College of the Air Force , provides a transcript detailing ACE recommended credit. You will be able to obtain this transcript for military training and experience even if you have not attended classes at CCAF. To order an official copy and have it mailed directly to Ozarks Technical Community College, please download a CCAF transcript request . Then follow the instructions. CCAF transcripts typically arrive within 14 days. CCAF will send and an official copy to Ozarks Technical Community College by mail.

How Do I Get My Jst
You will need to visit the DoDs JST site, login and create an account. If you are an active duty service member or have a CAC and were prior enlisted, you dont have to register. If you are prior Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, or Navy and dont have a CAC reader, then you will need to register.
Once you are logged in, you will have access to your JST. You can then send your JST to your specific school.
What If A Third Party Requests My Transcript
Sometimes a third party requests your transcript to be sent to them directly. This is the case often when transferring universities, or sometimes for you to qualify for jobs or fellowships.
Third parties will request the transcripts directly in order to ensure that you haven’t tampered with them.
While the transcript is sent to the third party directly, you’re still responsible for paying the fees. For example, if your potential employer wants you to send them your transcript immediately, you’ll still have to pay the rush fee.
The transcript will simply be sent to them instead of to you.
