Recent Property Management Graduate

I recently graduated from Ashworth College with a diploma in Property Management. Back in 2006, I attended Ashworth college for medical office but I didnât complete the program. Later in December of 2019, I decided I wanted to return to college. I was working a full time night job and I couldnât afford to quit my job and take on campus classes. The admission rep was very understanding and signed me up with no issue. Iâm an independent learner so I rarely asked for help, but when I noticed errors on my exam, Ashworth allowed me to challenge the errors and my exams where revised. The student community kept me motivated on days I felt like giving up. The tutoring services can use improvement for those that need it. I used YouTube and google articles during my study which was helpful since Iâm a visual learner. My diploma arrived January 2021 but it only had one signature instead of two. This can be improved also. I plan to use my transcript when looking for employment. Other than these small issues, I enjoyed my course and plan to return for my associates degree in business.

I consider myself a lone wolf and and independent learner, have been since I was a child. Learning in a classroom with others was never for me. Being homeschooled growing up to help myself learn better, for college online school was the best option for me and my learning style. Studying business online has been great for me and I’m really learning what I need to know and I’m doing in my own environment that I enjoy. If you are someone like me who is better working alone Ashworth College is a great choice. Like anywhere there are flaws but I feel I’m getting a great education how I want it.

Pro/con: The Schools Provides Your Books

Several students who reviewed the school on Yelp complained that they had problems with their books. The most-common woe was that books were on back-order, which delayed people from starting their coursework right away.

However, other students countered that that their books were available online and they had no issues. One student even noted that the books were included in the cost of tuition.

Ashworths website states that some classes use only ebooks which can be accessed online. If a class requires a physical book of some kind, the school states that they will be sent via USPS within 24 hours of your enrollment.

What Does a Home Health Aide Do?

One reviewer noted that, in her opinion, its unlikely Ashworth will help you break into a new field, but she also stated that an Ashworth certification can be helpful if youre already a working professional and want to advance in your occupation. She noted that her husband is a police officer and was able to nab a promotion thanks to his attendance at Ashworth.

Ashworth College Settles Ftc Charges It Misled Students About Career Training Credit Transfers

Ashworth College has agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges it misrepresented to students that they would get the training and credentials needed to switch careers or get a new job, and that the course credits they earned would transfer to other schools. In reality, many programs offered by the for-profit institution did not meet state requirements for desired careers, and the claims made about credit transfers were often not true.

When schools promise students they can transfer course credits or get a better job after completing their programs, theyd better be able to back up those claims, said Jessica Rich, Director, FTCs Bureau of Consumer Protection. Ashworth College didnt tell the truth when it made those promises to prospective students.

According to the Commissions complaint, the Professional Career Development Institute, LLC, doing business as Ashworth College, violated the FTC Act by deceptively marketing its online college degree and career-training programs. The FTC alleges some degrees and programs offered by Ashworth College failed to meet the basic educational requirements set by state licensing boards for careers or jobs such as real estate appraisers, home inspectors, elementary school educators, massage practitioners, and more. The FTC also alleges the institution claimed that its credits would transfer even though it lacked supporting data that other colleges and universities would accept their credits.

I completed the Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing in Jan 2016. As a busy adult, this was the best option for me. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I have absolutely no complaints. The coursework was every bit as challenging as any other Department of Education/CHEA recognized and accredited college. The flexibility allowed me to complete my degree faster than in a traditional university. Loved it so much that I just enrolled in their MBA. I would guess the negative reviews come from those students that did not take the time to read and understand the college’s policies, or did not have the wherewithal to complete a rigorous program. The classes are tough. This was no different than attending my State university. Lots of research and writing. Great program! Proud to be an Ashworth College graduate.

My first problem came in the form of them trying to tell me I wasn’t eligible for the 4th semester free that was offered when I signed up, took 3 weeks to get that resolved. First course of semester 4 I cud not get the assignments to come up complete. I messaged and was told no that is right you are ok to submit. I submitted and failed the assignment. Spent 2 days fighting to get a second chance. Now I’m on the second course if the semester and once again my assignment is messed with and the instructor is refusing a submission and since I didn’t pass that one element even though I have a b for the course, I am once again fighting them this time to get that course closed so I can move on. If you don’t want to be jerked around, run, run fast and far.

Back in 2014 I enrolled for the human resources degree program. At first, I’ll be honest I was skeptical of online colleges but enrolling into Ashworth was an excellent career move. I work at my current job and also work on my studies in my free time so I get to create that fine balance which I overall enjoy so it doesn’t become too stressful. As for the materials, they all came in on time and we’re on point on what is used today for textbooks and they were filled with useful information that I could use and was also very in depth. I really have enjoyed the human resources degree program, I am looking forward to seeing where I land in my career with my degree, of course I am hoping to advance but we will see in due time. Great school, well worth the money, time and effort. It is what you make it, you’re getting a good education so I do recommend this school to those who desire a good, solid, education. I had a good experience and I hope others do too! 🙂

Horrible Experience I Regret This Decision

Ok well first off the customer service is horrible I took the graphic design course and received 4 books . Two the size of a small magazine. Very hard to understand and when you call to speak to a teacher you never will. You will get customer service reps who tell you to Google the answer . So I decided to cancel. I was told that I could cancel on a payment plan since my husband just deployed to Iraq but they never made a note of it and when I contacted them about this they threaten me with collections when I have never missed a payment and want topay it off . Oh and of you change your mind you will get charged 225.00. This school is horrible they don’t respond to online questions either and when they do its not Much help. Only good thing is the price bit I guess you get what you pay for. Take my mistake as a learning experience and take your business elsewhere.

In the situation I was in Ashworth worked good enough and still being able to complete my goal and actually work was amazing for me. I Signed Up For The Landscaping Design

I signed up for the landscaping design course in two months I got my first book delivered and after about five months waiting for the material to use to do the drawings that I needed to do I decided to drop the course. For which they decided to charge me money to get out of the course I had thought about talking to a lawyer but not paying the difference being that they did not live up to their part of the agreement. I personally think it’s not fair if you don’t comply with your agreement and send them at Rio what good is that design for us without the proper equipment.I did take another course and graduated and heating and cooling I got all my material on time at the books that I used to do the work I graduated with honors so I decided to take the design course I would not recommend of a fishes with how they act and how many people did they let down because they couldn’t get the supplies and that still have to pay money to get out of.
