AC Online offers part-time courses online. Both our part-time online and part-time on-campus courses have the same content and learning outcomes. All part-time course credits transfer to your program of study, with no application for transfer of credit. Please note that if you are taking a program full-time online, you are not eligible to take courses on campus.

Types Of Credit Transfer
There are two types of credit transfer:
- Course Transfer. Transferring courses from one institution to another or taking a course at a different institution that will transfer back to your current institution.
- Program Transfer. Transferring a block of courses from one program to a similar program at another institution. For example, you have completed a diploma program in Accounting and want to take an advanced diploma or degree program in Accounting.

How To Transfer To An Online High School
Transferring to an online high school from a traditional high school is easy, provided youre coming from an accredited school. While the process differs from school to school, the basic steps are as follows:
Students should do their best to avoid leaving a school mid-year. Otherwise they risk losing credit for classes already taken or may have to jump through hoops to be able to continue their existing courses online. Set the end of your current term as a deadline for completing the remaining steps.
Depending on where they live, students might have multiple online high school options. Some of which may be free, but others might not be. When researching options, ask questions such as: Whats the curriculum like? Are there Advanced Placement courses? What kind of credentials and experience do the teachers have? One of the most important things to consider: If the school isnt accredited, look elsewhere. Accreditation means the school has been vetted and meets basic educational standards.
When you contact the school, Greenberg recommends having an unofficial transcript in hand to expedite the transfer process. Whenever we get a student that wants to come to our school, the first thing we usually ask for is an unofficial transcript so that we can gauge what classes they should be taking to earn a diploma, she says.
How Do I Apply For Osap If I Withdrew From My First Semester And Want To Return In The Second Semester
If you withdrew, or dropped to part-time status during your first semester, you must complete a form and submit it to Student Financial Services to reinstate your OSAP application. Please email to obtain the appropriate form. You may have incurred an OSAP academic penalty because of your withdrawal, and may be asked to write a letter of explanation and provide supporting documentation. If you have any questions about your status, please contact Student Financial Services.

Online Schools Are Often Cheaper Than On Campus
Online classes are regularly less expensive than traditional classes. Students are spared the high cost of room and board on campus as well as travel expenses. Students are also able to continue working full time while taking online classes, so they may need less financial aid or loans, reducing their debt at graduation.
Manage Your Time Wisely
The benefit of face-to-face classes is that you can rely on them to assess where you should be in the curriculum and remember what exams and deadlines are coming. With new circumstances, you may need to set up your own reminders.
Logging in to classes every day will allow you to confirm important deadlines for assignments, quizzes, and exams as some dates and deadlines could change. And check your university email so you dont miss any information about your classes. You can forward your university email to an email address you check regularly if you dont want to check multiple emails daily.
Once you know whats going on, get organized and make a plan for completing work. If you prefer structure, develop a written schedule of when you need to be available online for a virtual class and when you will work on projects and assignments.
You may now have more control of your time, so think about when you work and learn best and try to capitalize on that, says Carroll. Some people work best in the morning while others hit their stride at night. Regardless, keep yourself accountable of start times so you can create some momentum and then keep it going.
Also consider the difference in the amount of time you have to devote to online learning. “All activities take much longer than usual,” warns Peter Seidl, professor of chemistry at Federal University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. “But don’t let this discourage you!”

My Program Of Study Changed Do I Need To Take The New Courses
The college reviews programs annually to ensure that we are offering the most up-to-date education possible. To remain up-to-date, we often revise programs, which mean adding new courses and taking out older ones. You are required to follow the program of study that was active when you enrolled in your first course. Please check the Online Learning office to ensure you are following the correct program of study. If you are a part-time student you can track your progress using the Academic Planner available on ACSIS.
Why Apply To An Accredited Online School
Applying to an accredited online school guarantees high-quality education and a college degree thats legitimate and respected by employers. It also makes it possible for online students to enjoy transfer of earned credits to other accredited online or physical colleges and universities.
There are legit online schools with accreditation. Then there are also diploma mills.
Like the name suggests, diploma mills are institutions that grant diplomas that are either fraudulent or worthless.
Needless to say, they are not accredited schools.
While some of them will claim that they are accredited, their accreditation is from an accreditation body that they made up themselves.

Students switch postsecondary programs for a number of reasons some to improve their career opportunities, others because their interests change or their current program isnt a good fit. Some students find they like their program, but decide they want to go to school in a different city.

You Can Make Or Break It With Time Management
Its your responsibility to take the initiative to keep up with your work when enrolled in online classes. It can be easy to let assignments slide and miss due dates because of the wiggle room and flexibility that come with online courses.
Procrastination is a slippery slope and can affect your grade negatively. Its important to stay organized and follow a schedule because its difficult to catch up once you fall behind.
Many students underestimate the amount of time theyll spend studying for class. You should expect online courses to take about the same amount of time as traditional courses.
I wish there were resources to help you schedule your time while taking an online class. I didn’t know that there would still be strict deadlines in many of the courses, so although you’re not meeting during class time, a lot of scheduling and planning still has to be done for the course, says Gianna Sollitt of Newberry Public Relations & Marketing.

If you feel you have the relevant knowledge, you may not be required to take the prerequisite as long as the prerequisite is not part of your program of study.
