Biden Slams Republicans On Kimmel’s Show: This Is A Maga Party’ ‘you’ve Got To Send Them To Jail’
– Right out of the gate, President Joe Biden slammed Republicans in his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Wednesday night.
The man who promised to “unite” the country had just taken his seat when host Jimmy Kimmel asked him, “Why haven’t we done anything” about school shootings?
“Well, I think a lot of it’s intimidation by the NRA, and — look, this is not your father’s Republican Party, this is a MAGA party,” Biden said.
“It’s a very different — a very different Republican Party. And so you find people who are worried, I believe, that if they vote for rational gun policy, they’re going to be primaried. They’re going to lose in a hard-right Republican primary.
Kimmel asked Biden if any Republican lawmakers privately tell him they would like to do something about guns.
“Well, I think — many of them do. You know, I get in trouble for saying this. But I get on — we have very different views on a lot of things.
But I’ve always had a straight relationship with the majority — with the Republican leader, Mitch McConnell. You know, he’s a guy that when he says something, he means it.
I disagree with a lot of what he says, but he means it. …I mean, look. He’s a leader of a party that’s moved very hard right. And so in order to get anything done, he has a different problem than he did early on, before Trump became president.
Kimmel said, “It seems like maybe the party has moved hard right, but I don’t know that the people have moved hard right.”
Role In 2020 Presidential Campaign
Regarding the much-discussed possibility of her husband running in the 2020 United States presidential election, Biden was a key participant in his decision-making process. By one report in March 2019, she was “enthusiastically” in favor of his running.
The Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign was officially announced on April 25, 2019. A Town and Country magazine headline declared that “Jill Biden Might Just Be Joe Biden’s Greatest Political Asset”.
Days later, Biden addressed the matter of women who had accused her husband of physical contact that had made them feel uncomfortable by saying, “I think what you don’t realize is how many people approach Joe. Men and women, looking for comfort or empathy. But going forward, I think he’s gonna have to judge be a better judge of when people approach him, how he’s going to react. That he maybe shouldn’t approach them.” She said she had experienced male intrusion on personal space herself: “I just sorta stepped aside. I didn’t address it. … things have changed. There was a time when women were afraid to speak out. I can remember specifically it was in a job interview … if that same thing happened today, I’d turn around and say, ‘What do you think you’re doin’?’ … it’s totally different.” She also attracted attention by saying “it’s time to move on” concerning her husband’s role in 1991 regarding Anita Hill and the Clarence Thomas Supreme Court nomination.

Biden has signed dozens of executiveactions since being sworn in as the 46th president on Jan. 20. Now, multiple Facebook users are claiming he cancelled the 250 million $$$ Trump gave to Black Colleges.
The $250-million figure mentioned in the post appears to refer to annual funding authorized in the FUTURE Act. The bipartisan bill, which Trump signed into law in December 2019, permanently authorized $255 million a year for HBCUs and other minority-serving educational institutions, the Associated Press reported.
Check Your Fact didnt find any evidence in sources such as Bidens executive orders and the White Houses press releases that Biden has revoked the funding. A move to that effect would also likely prompt coverage from major media outlets, none of which appears to have reported such a thing.
Furthermore, a Department of Education spokesperson confirmed to Check Your Fact in an email that the posts claim is false.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Bidens law school first came into play for the two-term Delaware senator in April of that year when a teacher from New Hampshire a key state to pick up momentum in the early Democratic primaries simply asked during a town hall: What law school did you attend and where did you place in that class?

He also attended on a half scholarship based on financial need and did not receive three undergraduate degrees, the outlet added.
In response to the reporting, Biden told The New York Times that his recollection of this was inaccurate, confirming that he received money from the school and the Higher Education Scholarship Fund of Delaware.
I graduated from the University of Delaware with a double major in history and political science. My reference to degrees at the Claremont event was intended to refer to these majors I said three and should have said two, Biden said in the statement, according to The Times.
He added that I exaggerate when Im angry but emphasized that he does not say untrue things about himself.

A Duke University political scientist offered one explanation for why this shift was so pronounced in FiveThirtyEight’s analysis.
“A lot of college-educated whites were not that turned off by Trump’s rhetoric about women or people of color,” Professor Ashley Jardina told FiveThirtyEight. “But we’re now in the middle of a pandemic and if you’re a college-educated person who cares about good government, Trump’s handling of the response might really matter to you.”
While many of these voters may not necessarily identify as Democrats, they defected from Trump in large enough numbers to outweigh the gains he made in turnout among whites without a college degree in addition to his improved results among Black and Latino men.
Despite Biden performing well among this segment of the electorate, Democrats lost House seats in several of the same areas with higher concentrations of college-educated whites.
But white, college-educated voters did not single-handedly carry Biden to victory.
People of color under the age of 30 came out in droves, with their votes offsetting boosts in GOP turnout in several states.
Still, on 2020’s Electoral College map, precincts and counties with more college-educated whites made the difference between Biden winning the states he needed to hit the necessary 270 electoral votes and coming up just short. Biden opposes military action aimed at regime change, but has said that “it is appropriate for us to provide nonmilitary support for opposition movements seeking universal human rights and more representative and accountable governance.” With respect to humanitarian intervention, Biden has said the U.S. has “a moral duty, as well as a security interest, to respond to genocide or chemical weapons use” but that such cases “require action by the community of nations, not just the United States.”

Bidens first introduction to central New York came from Neilia. She was from Skaneateles 30 minutes away from Syracuse and a senior at SU while Biden was still at Delaware as an undergrad. They met in the Bahamas while both were on spring break trips.
In his autobiography entitled Promises to Keep, Biden recalled telling Neilia that he would marry her after their first couple of days together. His next step was getting into a law school nearby, as Neilia began teaching at a local Syracuse middle school herself. But his first year wasnt as smooth as one may expect for a future U.S. president.
Biden said he failed his contract law course and almost flunked another in property law if it wasnt for his professor dying mid-semester. He wasnt sure if he bought all the required textbooks for his courses. Biden even referred to himself as a less-than-frequent visitor to his classes. Law school was like college, he wrote in 2007. All I had to do was get through to graduation, and I could get moving on to real life.
Richard Dietrich, a 1966 graduate of Colgate, was one year behind Biden when they were both at SU Law School. The two had overlapping friend groups, according to his daughter Alexa Dietrich. As Bidens political career would extend throughout the next couple of decades all the way to presidential aspirations, Richard, who wasnt a Democrat, thought back to what Biden was like in law school.

The American success story of President-elect Biden is now set in stone or, more properly, marble. Raised in a tight Catholic family in Wilmington, Delaware, Biden had a view of Archmere from his bedroom window. Hed spend long hours as a kid staring at its marble facing, imagining scoring touchdowns and hitting home runs for the Auks.
Biden, afflicted with a stutter throughout his youth, used athletics as a way to compensate while he wrestled his stutter under control. As much as I lacked confidence in my ability to communicate verbally, I always had confidence in my athletic ability, he wrote. Sports was as natural to me as speaking was unnatural.
At Archmere, hed find a second home. Archmere was housed in the former mansion of John Jakob Raskob, once the CFO of DuPont and a longtime Democratic operative. In his autobiography Promises to Keep, Biden described it as a magnificent Italianate marble pile on a property that sloped down to the Delaware River. Raskob sold it to a local order of Catholic priests after the incursion of working families and the noise and odor from nearby mills became too much to bear, and soon afterward, Archmere Academy was born.
Tuition at the private school was $300 a year, beyond the reach of Bidens family. After his acceptance, though, Biden began a work-study program for the summer washing windows and weeding the grounds and by the time school rolled around, he was a student just like the rest.

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was born on November 20, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, as World War II raged overseas. The first child of Catherine Eugenia Jean Finnegan Biden and Joseph Robinette Biden Sr., Joey, as he was known, was a scrappy kid from a working-class Irish Catholic family. Bidens father prospered during the war when an uncle gave him a job in his lucrative manufacturing company that provided sealant for merchant marine ships. Joe Sr. left Scranton to run the Boston office he lived the high life, driving fast cars, hunting, and haunting the polo fields. But after the war, his fortunes reversed, and Joe Sr. found himself adrift. After a couple of failed business ventures, he returned to the coal-mining town of Scranton where he took what work he could get to support the family. By now, Joe Jr. had been joined by his sister Valerie two brothers, James and Frank, would complete the family.
On his spring break in 1964, he met Neilia Hunter, a Syracuse University student. They married in 1966 and had three children, Beau , Hunter , and Naomi , who was known as Amy.
Supported by his sister Valerie, who served as campaign manager, his brother Jimmy, who was his chief fundraiser, and his wife, Neilia, Biden barnstormed the state, going door to door in the suburbs and at the shore, and won by less than 3,000 votes out of a total 228,000 cast. In his victory speech, the young Senator-elect graciously called the defeated incumbent a real gentleman.
