In accordance with the decision made by Senate, medical students now have the option of requesting a separate transcript of their work toward their medical degree.

    • The Medicine-only transcript will include only the coursework taken and grades received at the School of Medicine
    • It will show all degrees received from Queens and will have a notation at the end of the transcript which will indicate that the transcript shows only the courses and grades from the Doctor of Medicine program in the School of Medicine

Sending Your Final Transcripts To Colleges

< p> I’m worried my guidance office might screw up and not send my transcripts on time. I’ve already submitted a transcript request form at my guidance office and told them where to send it and by what date. But still, the secretaries at the office aren’t the brightest people.< /p>

< p> Do you think that a college will actually withdraw their admissions offer to someone if they don’t get their final transcript in on time? Or will most colleges notify you that they didn’t get it and have you send it again? Also, is there a way for your college to notify you that they received your transcript?< /p>

< p> Most colleges will let you know if they don’t get the final transcript, but that is so standard I would be surprised if your GC did not follow through.< /p>

< p> Ummmm…. stop worrying. Your college has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on getting a great incoming class — and they’ll just casually chuck you aside for a potential clerical oversight? Is this how well run you believe your college is? Then you should withdraw and find one not staffed by morons.< /p>

< p> My son needed an “official HS transcript” for something not school related, though I can’t remember what it was. We called and stopped by the HS main office over the summer and the secretary just printed it off the computer. < /p>

< p> In the meantime, drop off a stamped self-addressed envelope to the guidance dept and ask that they send you a copy too.< /p>

Do I Need A Transcript To Apply To College

Students who attended college many years ago or who did not get good grades the first time may wonder whether they need a transcript. Some may even prefer to get a fresh start rather than transferring bad grades to a new school.

The truth is that even if your grades arent great, you need a transcript. Even a single transfer credit can help expedite your graduation. Perhaps more importantly, most schools require you to submit all relevant transcripts. It may even be an honor code violation to exclude a school.

Transcript Information For Applicants Who Have Attended School Outside The Us

Each academic record must list the:

    • dates you attended the institution
    • titles of courses and examinations you completed
    • grades you received
    • any degree or diploma you may have received

Because it may take some time for schools outside the United States to forward your records to UC, you are encouraged to have available legible photocopies of your official foreign academic records. Do not send transcripts at the time of application. After you submit your application, be prepared to send these copies to the admissions office at each campus to which you have applied, only upon their request. Official transcripts will be required at the campus you elect to attend.

UC recognizes that it may be difficult to obtain foreign records in the event of political upheaval or natural disaster. However, these situations are rare. Failure to provide official records may jeopardize your enrollment at UC.

Do You Need To Pay To Get Your Transcript

It depends. Sometimes schools will charge you a small fee to cover the cost of creating and distributing your transcript. The amount charged and how it is charged varies by school. Some schools don’t charge fees at all for transcript requests.

Some schools charge a one-time fee, usually paid when you start your freshman year at the high school. This fee is included with other school fees , and paying it once allows you to request unlimited transcripts and send unlimited transcripts to schools or other places forever, without paying.

Some schools provide unofficial copies of your transcript for free, but charge a fee for sending an official version of your transcript. At my high school, you could get an unofficial copy of your transcript for free as well as three official copies, but if you needed more than three official copies sent, then you had to pay $2 each time to cover the cost of shipping.

If you use a third party site to get your transcript, be aware that they charge shipping and handling fees for both official and unofficial copies of your transcript. These fees vary by company but are typically more than your school charges, so it’s best to try and get your transcript through your school first.
