The California Department of Education does not have the authority or resources to collect and/or store transcripts or records for students in California public or private schools. However, there are steps you can take to try to recover your academic records. This page provides resources for obtaining student records and transcripts for various educational entities.

University Of California System

The University of California has institutions all across the US which is why it has its own application system. You can upload your transcripts through this application system with other documents including the academic profile, test scores,LOR, SOP, copy of passport, etc.

Transcript Information For Applicants Who Have Attended School Outside The Us

Each academic record must list the:

• dates you attended the institution
• titles of courses and examinations you completed
• grades you received
• any degree or diploma you may have received

Because it may take some time for schools outside the United States to forward your records to UC, you are encouraged to have available legible photocopies of your official foreign academic records. Do not send transcripts at the time of application. After you submit your application, be prepared to send these copies to the admissions office at each campus to which you have applied, only upon their request. Official transcripts will be required at the campus you elect to attend.

UC recognizes that it may be difficult to obtain foreign records in the event of political upheaval or natural disaster. However, these situations are rare. Failure to provide official records may jeopardize your enrollment at UC.

How Do I Order My Official Transcript

VCCCD has authorized Parchment, Inc. to act as agent for providing official transcripts.

Both paper and electronic transcripts can be ordered anytime by current or former students. Transcript requests are processed within one to two business days of the completed order, providing the requester has no outstanding holds. Pick up option is not available. Official Transcript

• This is created on special paper, stamped and sealed in an envelope by St. Lawrence College once the envelope seal is broken the transcript is deemed unofficial and may not be accepted.
• Typically official transcripts are required by Post-Secondary Institutions, Employers, etc.

Unofficial Transcript

• This is a print out of your transcript on regular paper, no stamps or seals are used.
• If you have access to slc.me you can print off your own unofficial transcript.

If you originally sent your transcript request through OntarioColleges or OUAC application centre

You can re-request your transcript directly on Ontario Colleges or OUAC again.Be sure to choose the correct option Send Now, Send After Semester, or Send After Degree Conferred.

Sending Transcripts Electronically

Please note that electronic transcripts are not the same as emailed transcripts. We cannot accept transcripts sent via email.

DICAS only accepts electronic transcripts from Credentials Solutions, Parchment, and National Student Clearinghouse. If your school does not offer any of these services, your transcript must be sent by mail.

If your school requires that you use a service other than Credentials Solutions, Parchment, or National Student Clearinghouse, you should ask that service to mail the transcripts instead of sending them electronically. Since you cannot include the Transcript ID Form, you should include your full DICAS ID number when entering the DICAS mailing address.

When using any of these services, select DICAS as the recipient. If you can’t select DICAS and instead are asked for an email address, your transcript must be sent by mail. Do not send your transcript to the DICAS customer service email.

Is It Legal For A School To Withhold Your Transcript

The short answer is yes. The transcript is the property of your school and not your personal property. Therefore, they are within their right to refuse a transcript to you on the basis that youve not paid what you owe to them in full.

In some cases, the money you owe is referred to as a hold. If you have a hold on your account, they may not give the transcript to you.

Gather The Information You Will Need Submitting Your College Transcript Request

Heres where it gets tricky. It is not uncommon for a school to require written consent to release your transcripts before actually releasing the transcripts. Start this process by contacting your schools Registrars Office. Ask them if consent is required and if they offer an electronic process.
