This course offers strategies to enhance student success in the second year of the Associate Degree Nursing program. This course reviews personal aptitudes, learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses in written and verbal communication as well as potential barriers to completion of the nursing program. Course content addresses the specific theory and clinical needs of NURSE 420 and NURSE 430 while focusing on the development of critical thinking skills used when managing a group of patients in the clinical setting. Pursue An Advanced Nursing Degree

There are several options for students who are interested in pursuing an advanced degree in nursing. If you have a bachelors degree that is unrelated to nursing, you can enroll in a Master of Science in Nursing.

If you have a BSN, you can enroll in a Doctor of Nursing Practice program. There are several tracks available in both programs that center on topics like health systems management, advanced nursing and public health.

Is it ok to take fun classes in college?

Usually Ill be the first person to trade in immediate fun for greater future rewards and success.

For example, Ive stayed in on countless weekend nights working on my business instead of chugging drinks. And I cant remember the last weekend that I didnt work, even on vacation.

So my point is: Im 99% of the time all about working hard to set myself up for an amazing future. For better or for worse, Im just wired that way!

I mean just take a look at the titles and content in some of my previous blog posts below, and you would be shocked that the same guy is promoting fun in this blog post title:

However, there are certain situations where it pays to be intentional about having fun. And in this post, Im convinced students are better off finding fun classes to take in college than not .

Before you think Im more confusing than a government tax plan, let me explain why Im on board the take-fun-classes train.

Are There Prerequisites

An ADN or nursing diploma is required to practice as a registered nurse, but entry to an RN degree program is based on a few things.

• Minimum SAT or ACT exam scores
• GPA range between 2.0 and 3.25
• Three years of math, including geometry and algebra II
• Three years of science, including biology and chemistry
• Four years of English
• Two years of a foreign language
• Nursing entrance exams

Women And Infant Health

Women and infant health covers womens health, reproductive health, pregnancy, delivery, and infant development. Nursing school classes in this subject emphasize the nurses role in patient education and communication, as well as their role in providing direct nursing care. Generally, this is a foundational course that students take earlier in their nursing school curriculum. This is very important because most nursing schools develop a very rigid curriculum, and they have a lot of prerequisites you must follow to be allowed into the nursing program, or to graduate within the normal time frame.

If you happen to skip this very important part, it could set you back in time and tuition. So the first thing I would suggest is making an appointment and speaking with someone about declaring your major in nursing, or getting accepting into the nursing program. Again, most nursing programs have their own adviser to help students with this very task, and usually it is a free service provided by the university.

Once you do this, they will tell you exactly which courses you need to take and when.

When I was in nursing school to get my BSN degree, I had to take 2 years of general education courses, and then my last 2 years were essentially nursing school classes. I had to meet with an adviser every single time, and they would approve my schedule. My university was set up in a way so that you could not register for classes until you were approved and cleared by the adviser to do so.
